about

Tracy Cornish is an Australian artist with a Doctorate of Philosophy by Research in Visual Art. She currently lives in San Diego, California.

Her work explores relationships with process and procedure through materials and technology. From co-collaborating with photographic chemistry and digital detritus such as glitches to human collaborations with emerging technology. Her work has been exhibited in Australia, the United States and Europe. Exhibitions and productions include The Museum of Future Objects, Portland; Essa! San Diego, Moon Lust, Chicago; Transmediale Berlin; Out of the Box, San Francisco; and Color at CICA Museum, South Korea. In 2013 she stepped away from her full-time art practice to focus on declining health.

Tracy is re-emerging with a renewed sense of making – vegan, sustainable and non-toxic. An art practice that aligns with her health, nature and natural processes. Her emerging practice is still grounded process through urban foraging, natural dye, natural ink making and eco-printing. A practice that both resists the insatiable hunger for resources that contemporary technology demands and at the same time offers a deepening investigation into nature through color, materiality and process.
