emission glitch
emission glitches is a moving image that explores the completely random, unpredictable and unexpected nature of computer glitches. Glitching, a term used in video gaming, describes the practice of exploiting glitches. In gaming, glitches have their extremes - they can lead practitioners to unforeseen benefits or directly into Blue Hell (which traps a player in a non-existent area of a game). The game the artist plays, seeks the rewards of making it to new levels of information, and in doing so, highlighting the levels of abstraction and the risks that accompany the translation of information into numerical code. emission glitches is a "source glitch" - the direct result of an encoding error - it is scrambled footage from glowing emissions.
